This Mom Hears Noises In The Ceiling, Finds Ex-Boyfriend Living In Her Attic 12 Years After Breakup.

Creepy isn’t the same as scary. It can be scary simply by loud noises and sudden movements to make you jump; it can play on your primal fears and physical reactions to give you a thrill. But creepy is way different. Have you seen a film that establishes a certain atmosphere; that it draws you in and make you care. It gives you something to think about when you’re trying to drop off to sleep at night; makes you wonder whether that creaking noise in the attic was just the house settling, or something lurking in the shadows in the attic. Sometimes it stays with you. It gives you goosebumps.

Tracy is a mother of five who lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She’s a single mom and raised her children by herself. She always had fears of a break in and would make sure all the doors were locked. However, in 2012, she heard some strange noises coming from the attic. It began with strange, random noises throughout the house. One night, when she put the kids to sleep Tracy heard thumping coming from the attic directly above her bedroom. Just then, the nails began popping out of the ceiling, one-by-one.

Even though attics are usually used for storing out-of-season clothes and Christmas tree decorations, we’ve got to admit that there’s something super creepy about attics. This is especially true if you just moved into a new place; there’s just no telling what could’ve happened up there or what someone—or something—could have left behind. Some of these are so scary or unexplainable, in fact, that they can make anyone want to turn around and move right back out of their house. But in Tracy’s house, it’s different.

Tracy immediately called for her adult sons and nephew to check out the attic. They thought they would find a possum or a raccoon (which is common) but what they discovered was even more terrifying than any of them could imagine. They climbed up the dark attic stairs and turned their flashlights on to find a grown man sleeping next to the heating unit! After further investigating, they realized it was their mother’s ex-boyfriend and that he had been living there for two weeks! Then it hit them…How did he get up here?

Tracy dialed 911 immediately and barricaded the attic door. It turns out that the man had done some housework for the family and the two even dated for a brief period long ago. It was later found that the man had entered through the front door before entering the attic!

This reminds us of the movie, Man in the Attic, this is a 1953 mystery film directed by Hugo Fregonese. It was released in the United States on December 23 by Twentieth Century Fox. The movie, based on the 1913 novel The Lodger by Marie Belloc Lowndes, fictionalizes the Jack the Ripper which was previously filmed by Alfred Hitchcock in 1927, by Maurice Elvey in 1932, by John Brahm in 1944, and subsequently by David Ondaatje in 2009.

The story takes place in London, 1888. On the third night of the Jack the Ripper, a man rents out an attic from an older couple in need of extra income. The man (Jack Palance), a research pathologist, begins working on his experiments in the rooms. Helen Harley, the landlady (Frances Bavier), becomes suspicious of the man, especially when her niece Lily Bonner (Constance Smith) shows an interest in him.

We hope that this scary story won’t happen to anyone. Tracy and her family are okay now.
