Celebrities often slap their name on a brand, give it their blessing, then sit back and rake in the royalties. But for some, that's not enough. There are a few famous faces who also have entrepreneurial spirits -- they see past the careers that made them famous and decide to venture into the business world.

Being a star is no guarantee of success, of course. Only a few celebrities have really managed to move beyond their original careers and develop some seriously successful business empires. We compiled a list of 10 celebrities-turned-entrepreneurs who have really succeeded in their business endeavors.

1. Marvin Agustin

Through the years, Marvin has become a great model to Pinoys in showbiz. He is one great proof that celebrities can also become entrepreneurs in real life and not just in TV screen. He started in the food business and is now venturing into many areas including real estate and private entertainment companies. He is the co-owner of SumoSam, John and Yoko, and Cafe Ten Titas.



2. Sharon Cuneta

The Megastar, who is the mom of one of the most beautiful faces in Philippine showbiz, KC Concepcion, is a real estate investor associated with posh properties in Metro Manila. Their family also manages a 3-hectare farm – the Sweet Spring Country Farm.



3. Shamcey Supsup

This is what Shamcey Supsup-Lee said on why she and husband Lloyd Lee chose to venture into a food business. In fact, their restaurant Pedro 'N Coi, which is located at Fisher Mall in Quezon City, has a unique theme. "Gusto namin yun parang nasa isang kalye ka sa Maynila. . . may jeep, may mga stalls, at may mga sari-sari stores," Shamcey explained on their concept, which focuses on making their diners feel like they are on the streets of Manila.



4. Karylle Padilla-Yuzon

Now married to Yael Yuzon, the vocalist of the band Spongecola, Karylle co-owns a family KTV and resto-bar called Centerstage, which has become one of the best and most visited karaoke places in the Metro.



5. Jackie Rice

Kapuso actress Jackie Rice is also persevered on entering food business. With her partner Andrew Lopez, Jackie has just opened Pares de Manila – a 24-hour eatery. With the success of her branch in Sampaloc, Manila, they are able to open another branch located Scout Ybardolaza St., Quezon City. Pares de Manila serves all-time favourite Filipino meals like beef pares, tapsilog, sizzling liempo, etc. So if you’re craving for authentic Filipino meals at 2 in the morning, this is a must-go.



6. Erich Gonzales

Be My Lady leading actress Erich Gonzales owns an all-day breakfast restaurant that offers traditional American, Korean, Asian Fusion, and Filipino food that seems fittingly to its name – The Breakfast Club (TBC). She opened her first restaurant back in 2013 at Sto. Domingo, Quezon City, and with its success, Erich was able to open another branch located in Pasig City.


There’s a saying that “A way to man’s heart is through his stomach.” Is this one of the great qualities that Daniel Matsunaga likes about Erich? One thing’s for sure, Erich is booming in the showbiz AND food industry.

7. Georgina Wilson

8. Sam Milby

This heartthrob singer-actor has an eye of becoming more business-savvy in the future. Sam Milby is a co-owner of Prost Braumeister, a German pub located in the Fort. He also co-owns Third District, a coffee shop in Katipunan, Quezon City. His first business investment was producing the record album of Quest in 2010. Too many businesses for such a busy actor. But hey, we’re not the one to complain. Sam is doing an awesome job with both work and his career.



9.  Jodi Sta. Maria

Jodi is one of the celebrity entrepreneurs who are very hands-on with her businesses. She owns The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory, reflecting her love for milkshakes, and Rue Bourbon, a New Orleans inspired bar and restaurant.



10. Jericho Rosales

Mr Pogi has also ventured himself into the world of business. He’s into grooming that’s why he put up a barber shop called Talas Manilenyo, who had its opening last 2015. He may technically not own Kuya J Restaurant, him being the official ambassador of the said restaurant somehow established him to be the ‘J’ of the restaurant’s name; resulting to people thinking he owns the restaurant chain.
