Social experiments became a trend lately. These are research studies that use human subjects in a real-world setting. It investigates the effects of certain circumstances to people. People would be exposed to a controlled condition and the researchers will observe how the subjects would act with the given conditions at hand. These experiments give information about the psyche of society which helps in determining the effectivity of a policy, program, or trend.

Some of the most popular social experiments worldwide are the Marshmallow Test Experiment where kids were asked to stay in a room with a marshmallow. If the researchers come back and the marshmallow is still in one piece, they would reward the kid with another piece. This experiment tried to see if delaying gratification may be a predictor of success in life. Another example would be the Stanford Prison Experiment, wherein people were asked to role play as a prisoner, guard, and warden in a made-up prison environment. It investigated the effect of a prison environment on the behavior of people.

Body painting is a form of body art. Unlike tattoo or any other body art, body painting is temporary. It usually lasts for a few minutes or hours only. Body painting that is limited to the face is called face painting but for a large-scale full-body painting, it is called as is. Small and detailed body painting is different from body painting and is more of a "temporary tattoo".

A social experiment footage is resurfacing online about two ladies' visit to the gym. It became viral when they revealed what they were actually wearing.

Fitness fans Sarah Reilly and Maria Luciotti teamed up with famous body painter Jen Seidel to conduct a social experiment in a gym in Baltimore, Maryland wherein they worked out while only wearing body paint. Jen together with her body paint partner did an impressive art on Sarah and Maria making them appear like they are really wearing gym bras and leggings. The two toured around the gym and did some short work-outs to see if people will notice. At first, people noticed that there was something odd about the get up of the two ladies, but they were hesitant to look closer. They only found out after Jen asked the people around what they noticed upon taking a closer look at the attire of the ladies. It is only then that they realized that the two were only wearing body paint. Jen immediately assured the people that they had the permission of the management with regards to the experiment that they did. They stopped the experiment when they noticed that the body paint is starting to wear off because of their sweat.
